"Fantasmi Romani"
Each page inside a WikiWikiWeb can be edited easily, and as writing a page should be very easy to accomplish, there are only a few rules, which are not as difficult to learn as the ones of the HyperTextMarkupLanguage.
Click on the EditThisPageLink at the bottom of this page or all you read here won't make much sense to you.
Paragraphs
- separate paragraphs inside the text with empty lines
- do not indent paragraphs
- if you have spaces on the left of your text, it will be printed with a typewriter-like font
- to indent text use :: at the beginning of a line
- Use three times % like here
to start a new line
!! Headlines
- use an exclamation mark ! at the beginning of a line to create a small headline, !! for medium and !!! for large headlines
Text style
- if you want to emphasize text enclose it in two single-quotes '' (usually looks italic)
- text gets bold with two underscores __ (or if enclosed with two asterisks **)
- to make text big enclose it in hash characters ##
- you can get smaller text using "µµ" likewise
Lists
- start a line with an asterisk * to begin a list
- use # instead for numerated lists
- you can create sublists
- subsequent list points should start with the same mix of * and #
HyperLinks
- just enter a WikiWord inside your text to create a new HyperLink
- enclose some words in square brackets to create a HyperLink inside the WikiWikiWeb which is not made up of a valid WikiWord
- any valid internet address (starting with http://) like http://www.example.com/ will be made clickable automatically
- enclose a www address inside square brackets freshmeat project page and assign it a neat title using the | character
- Alternatively you can enclose the title in quotes [freshmeat project page]. This is especially important within tables.
- if you don't want a WikiWord or a http://www-address (or [anything] inside square brackets) to become a HyperLink then just prepend it with a exclamation mark, like: !NoHyperLink
- To create a hyperlink to an image with some arbitrary linking text, you'll need to escape the image's URL with a '#' character so ErfurtWiki does not try to display it inline.
- [a link to some image|http://example.com/something.png#]
Tables with |
| just enclose | things with the vertical bar | character |
| to build a | table structure | - |
| browsers usually | leaves out the missing | cells |
You must close open table lines with | and also close them with the same. Blank lines must preceed and follow all tables.
| a 2 cell table | WikiPage |
Pictures
- to include an image into a page enclose its absolute www-address in square brackets, like [http://www.example.com/pics/image.png]
- alternatively you could use the ImageUploading function, see EditThisPage

i am sorry to leave message here, but i don't know how to type the char "µ". if it is such a hard-to-type char, why use it as a tag? why not choose a easy-to-type one?
mario: No, it's ok to leave messages here :)
I have the "µ" on the "M"-key; and I get it by typing it in conjunction with "*AltGraphics". Now the question is, if that's only the case for keyboards in EuroLand?
The reason for it was probably that I didn't consider small text to be that important. Someone lately told me he reconfigured ewiki to use two commas ",," instead for it, which obviously looks better and is easier to type. So if that's desired we could make it the default for new versions. (with a *TransitionPhase where both were allowed)
I vote not that greek char which I can not even find in my keyboard.
Jochen: If you wait for some other opinions: I think every standard ascii char would be better than µ *vote*
Maxim In the french keyboard this is not a problem. Maj + *. But for sure it must be in many keyboards... µ isn't so much used...
*Meztup: Alt + 230 on the keypad = µ... I still vote for two commas instead.
only a try: <a id="1">one</a> I'm trying to make a link to a paragraph in the same page.
Cool! I successfully removed the spam. It seems that you cannot just delete large blocks of text without replacing it with something. This is probably a really good feature that can avoid some low-level vandalism.
