Always thought PhpWiki was dead. However it turned out, they still develop their engine. Moreover they do it successfully, and have a lot of extensions available.

  • they recently started plugins and an API for complex authentication schemes
  • have multiple database backends now (some lack features, because of their more complex API)

So it remains interesting to look around PhpWiki for feature ideas.

  • our MpiPlugins were already blatantly copied from them (or more exactly: the syntax was synced with that of PhpWiki plugins)

The idea of *GlueCode arises, however only little of PhpWiki code could be made working with ewiki. There was too much silly little functions and OO interfaces, html and output mixery involved.
